2019 Music Features

11:15 am - 12:10 pm
Lisa Winter

Lisa Winter is not your normal nightclub fare. She's not background music for coffee. You could consider taking a dose of Lisa's music as an alternative to Prozac. Her songs are conversations with her audience. Her voice is distinctive and surprisingly vulnerable. She writes and performs her own original music and artistically arranged covers in a novel mix influenced by acoustic and blues, seasoned with a hint of jazz. She has released four CDs over the years.

Frank de Blase of The City Newspaper describes her songs as "little prayers sent up on gossamer wings....They're lyrically impactful yet melodically gentle. The Rochester singer-songwriter is a compelling performer".

Jack West

Sometimes it takes youth to lead us to the next place, to revive rock and roll by taking the old and putting a new spin on it. Fourteen-year-old Jack West conjures memories of Kurt Cobain with his lanky, shoulder-length hair and piercing gaze. It's no mistake that he's performed with grunge-rock icon Eddie Vedder before 30,000 at a concert in Nashville, or that he collaborated with renowned Seattle producer Barrett Jones (Nirvana, Foo Fighters) at his famed Laundry Room Studio on West's new debut, eight-song offering, For the Record.
